Inkom Edla Yodwa

Our latest High School Reader

This story follows the life of Palesa as she navigates her new life in the coastal town of Ballito, KZN.
When Palesa’s dad announces that they are moving to Durban for his new job she is devastated. She feels angry, nervous and sad all at the same time. How is she ever going to make friends in a place full of new people? She had heard that everyone in Durban was unfriendly to new comers. She feels lonely and like an outsider (inkom’ edla yodwa) until she
is invited to try surfing…
Eventually she learns that it’s ok to be different, you are never going to be accepted by everyone and most importantly being yourself is all you need to do!
